Great Award : gardens in stage 2004

The Association of the Gardens and Horticulture Reporters (A.J.J.H.- 260 members) gives every year the Great National Award " Gardens in stage", to encourage creativity, new concepts, original ideas in gardens
This award reward 2 gardens :

• a private garden, personal or familial
• a collectivity garden 

The criterias of selections are :

• innovation and creativity
• respect of the landscape in the surroundings and of the architectural heritage
• the sensible use of the vegetable palette
• the quality of the maintenance and the welcoming

Among 52 successful files and 12 reserved files, the AJJH was particularly seduced by the immense commitment of the City of Terrasson in landscaping.
She thus wished to reward the begun realizations, not only through the original creation of a vaste contemporary garden in rural areas " Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire " but also by landscaping in urban zones (former city and modern city).

It is a question for the AJJH of recognizing and of making known the scale and the coherence of a municipal project about the multiple objectives (economic development, living environment, image), and to encourage the current realizations and to come.

It's also the occasion for AJJH to underline the quality and the original choices done (resort to the architect-landscape painter Kathryn Gustafson for "Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire"; creation of a landscaped charter for urban plannings).

By the way, it's necessary to show that for a city of 6500 inhabitants it's completly possible to transform its appearence and attractivity in only 10 years, using the thema of the gardens for its development. 

Terrasson and its "Jardins de l'Imaginaire" so allow " to open the spirit towards other possible in conception of garden ".
